London based rapper and spokenword artist Nkechi da LyricL is British born with Nigerian origins. Her parents hail from Imo State (now Abia State), Isuikwuato and settled in the UK after fleeing during the Biafran War.
One of the UK's leading female emcees. LyricL has appeared on stages worldwide from St Petersburg to Lisbon, and released singles in New Zealand, Austria, Japan, Sweden, Toronto and USA. Artist/Songwriter, Lyricist and Spokenword Performance Poet LyricL recently released new album 'AMAZED' on worldwide download by label 'Fresh Rotations' including prolific renown artists such as DJ Spinna, Daz-I-kue, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Drew Horley, Octavio N Santos and Heidi Vogel but to mention a few.
LyricL has supported Black Thought, The Roots, Jill Scott, Jazzy Jeff, Daz-i-kue/Bugz In The Attic, M J Cole, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Patrice Rushen, Kaidi Taithan, Dele Sosimi on her musical journey and Spring 2012 televised new single. 'Away' on Channel 4 for their 4 Music programme called "4Play - LyricL', and is resident in Newham the Olympic borough, where LyricL has this month successfully coached and won two awards via her teenage Performance Poetry Slam team at Stratford Theatre Royal, with great success!
MC LyricL academically teaches as a 1-2-1 Learning Mentor, conducts and facilitates 'Creative Writing, Rhyme & Rap' Workshops as an Artist-Tutor.
She also holds workshops for schools and after-school projects, youth groups and arts organisations in order to help young people to focus on how to improve stage presence, confidence, expressional delivery, rhythm, rhyme, spoken word and lyricism.
