Sophie Woolley is a writer and actress from London. She writes comic monologues, plays and short stories. Sophie played the role of 'Gabriella' in Cast Offs, a drama series by Jack Thorne broadcast on Channel 4 in 2009.
Her play Fight Face (2008) had a three week run at the Lyric Hammersmith. Fight Face is a fast paced comedy about a fight outside a kebab shop. It features 16 characters, all played by David Rubin and Sophie herself. A Tin Bath Production, the show was acclaimed for its innovative captions for deaf audiences.
Sophie has appeared on Channel 4's The Art Show and is a regular performer on Radio 3. Her short stories and satires have been published in Sleaze Nation, Shoreditch Twat, The Idler, Marmalade Magazine Matter and Picador New Writing anthologies. Sophie was an attached writer at Soho Theatre in 2005-2006 where her short plays Game Shop Fag Kiss and Tell Your Dad I Want my Pants Back were showcased.
Her one person show When to Run was adapted for Radio 4 in 2008. Her latest Radio 4 play Carbon Cleansing starred Doon Mackichan as an ex banker-turned ardent climate activist.
