SPINE FESTIVAL: LIBRARIES OUT LOUD
Celebrating arts and literature across London libraries
Kicking off on World Book Day, SPINE Festival brings London communities together to celebrate the arts and literature in libraries. Through an exciting programme of FREE events including music, poetry, storytelling, visual art, dance and drama, SPINE Festival gives children, young people, families and local communities the chance to get involved in fun activities, performances, and creative workshops with top professional artists.

SPINE Festival is bringing an inspirational array of artists on board; five of these will each bring their talents to one library throughout the festival as the SPINE Artists in Residence. For more information visit the SPINE Artists in Residence project page.
Where's it all happening?
It is SPINE's aim to engage more children and young people with literature and creative and cultural activities in their local libraries, as well as to encourage schools to build lasting connections for longer-term impact. SPINE is a strategic programme of activity developed by Apples and Snakes, England's leading organisation for spoken word and performance poetry. The project has been developed in partnership with library authorities across London as part of Apples and Snakes' work as an Associate Bridge organisation.
