Volunteering for Apples and Snakes
Volunteering for Apples and Snakes is a great way to learn more about performance poetry and spoken word, gain experience of working in the arts and benefit your local community. It can be a lot of fun too!
"My digital marketing and communications internship at Apples and Snakes London exceeded my expectations. I feel like this internship has really set me up for the future and I know that I still have the support of Apples and Snakes if I need any advice or guidance. I would recommend this invaluable experience to anyone. I feel it has not only taught me so much but truly set me up for my future career in the arts."
Laurie Bolger, Digital, Marketing & Communications Voluntary Internship, April-July 2012
Event Volunteer – a person supporting at gigs and events, with possible tasks including filming the event, collecting email addresses and exit flyering. We are always looking for event volunteers to help out at our many gigs and events around the country.
Office Based Volunteer – a person supporting in the office helping out on specific projects, or with specific teams. These are often students or new graduates but can be any adult, and would usually be for a specific amount of time. Tasks could include administration, marketing, video editing, social networking, research tasks etc. This kind of volunteering is in high demand as it is a great way of gaining real experience of working in the arts. We aim to offer as many office based placements as possible but are always dependant on our capacity and desk space!
Trustee - Apples and Snakes is overseen by a volunteer Board of Trustees. The Board meet four times a year to set policy and scrutinise the finances and management of the organisation. You can read more about the Board of Trustees here.
