Jawdance
Jawdance
Apples and Snakes presents
Jawdance
You can’t ignore the jaw,
come and explore the jaw -
don’t want to hear no can’ts or won’ts or shan’ts.
Talk your way through the door -
it’s what your jawbone’s for:
Jawdance Jawdance Jawdance – JAAAWDAAANCE!
Yes - poetry; a stage; a microphone; you. Put it all together and you’ve got Jawdance, the spoken-word show that’s hipper than a thousand Shoreditch hipsters wearing hipsters. And let’s not neglect to mention the special guests, the poetry films, the competitions and the genial host. As much brilliance, in fact, as two and a half hours can possibly contain.
And, since this is poetry, we’ll end with a metaphor: the early bird gets the worm. (Worm = open-mic slot; early bird = poet, arriving before the show starts.) I think we understand each other.
Featuring: Eleanor Hough, Kyrill Potapov, Victoriána Bulley, Unseen Flirt and your compere for the evening, Justin Coe.
When: Wednesday 25 January, 7.30pm
Where: Rich Mix, 35 – 47 Bethnal Green Road, London, E1 6LA
